Etraffic Solutions, Canada’s leading innovator for technology based education was proud to be named as a finalist in two award categories at the 2008 Vancouver Island Advanced Technology Centre (VIATeC) Technology Awards. Etraffic was a finalist for both Environmental Excellence and Product of the Year.

Etraffic’s Pilot Math program was nominated for Environmental Excellence for Etraffic’s new publishing divisions Etraffic Press’ innovative new publishing strategy. The Etraffic approach makes a small change to the way publishers provide resources to schools, allowing the individual schools to see dramatic changes in their carbon footprint in their own communities. These simple changes at the school level in communities dramaticaly help the province of British Columbia, which has launched an aggressive campaign to reduce the carbon footprint of the province, and reach the goal of decreasing significantly the Province’s greenhouse gas emissions. Etraffic Solutions has committed itself to finding efficient and ecologically friendly ways to provide e-learning products and services since it was founded in 1999.

Elements, Etraffic Solutions’ new online personalized learning environment that lets you choose what is relevant and meaningful for your organization was nominated for Product of the Year. Element’s uses a unique approach to personalizing each individual’s own online learning experience. Elements inaugural launch came in the fall of 2007 with the launch of the British Columbia’s Principal and Vice Principal Association’s (BCPVPA) new member’s only website www.mybcpvpa.com.

The Annual VIATeC Technology Awards evening captures the enthusiasm, energy and innovation that characterize Vancouver Island’s technology entrepreneurs and business people. The Award ceremony was held on May 15^th, 2008 at the Victoria Conference Centre.
