March 8, 2010 – SP SnapShot © (www.studentperformance.com) v3.2 will address custom data analysis and reporting needs of school districts across the United States when it is rolled out in May, 2010, Etraffic Solutions Inc. announced today. U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan has stated publicly his desire to see more data-driven decisions in the public school system, and SP SnapShot is designed to fulfill that need.
SP SnapShot © is the tool of choice among A level schools and districts in Florida and has been since 2003.
Florida is recognized by the Data Quality Campaign, a “national campaign to improve the collection, availability and use of high quality education data,” has rated Florida as among the top few states in the nation in meeting their 10 ‘Essential Elements’ for data use and reporting. These elements were developed to assist states in determining how data is best used to inform decisions to improve system and student performance.
During his speech to the Institute of Education Sciences Research Conference last year, Secretary Duncan stated, “I am a deep believer in the power of data to drive our decisions. Data gives us the road map to reform. It tells us where we are, where we need to go, and who is most at risk.”
SP SnapShot v3.2 will incorporate all of the currently valued features that provide data analysis in building roadmaps for student success, plus the new functionality of:

John Hansen, professor emeritus at Florida State University, was instrumental in the design and implementation of SP SnapShot. "Snapshot allows teachers and principals to examine current data for kids they have right in front of them at the moment. It allows the teacher to look back at the previous year and ask the question, "How did the kids under my watch perform, and what can I learn from that as I plan for my next year? If you don't have data, all you have are opinions."
Anthony Armbrister was the math coach at Miami Edison Senior High School when they literally turned five years of F ratings around and improved student scores so dramatically that Governor Charlie Crist came to a school rally to congratulate them. He attributed much of that success to SP Snapshot. "SnapShot is an excellent data analyzing tool that we use to modify instruction and to drive our curriculum."
